USF Department of English Assistant Professor Julia Koets was awarded a McKnight Junior Faculty Fellowship from the Florida Education Fund, a program that promotes excellence in teaching and research by underrepresented minorities and women.

USF English Professor Awarded Prestigious Windham Campbell Prize

Assistant Professor Natalie Scenters-Zapico was recently awarded the prestigious Windham Campbell Literature Prize at Yale University. The prize recognizes her two collections of poetry,The Verging Cities(2016) andLima :: Limon(2019). It also comes with an unrestricted grant of $165,000.

University of South Florida English PhD student Kara Larson has won a 2021 CCCC Scholars for the Dream Travel Award. The Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC), a constituent organization within the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), presents the award to 10 recipients each year.

Poetry Student Published in Anthology

Undergraduate student writer Deborah Locicero recently published one of her many successful poems from this course, her ode, in poetry anthology “Florida Bards: Gulf Coast Poets, Pinellas County.” We interviewed Locicero about her experience.
